Thanks for the great tips! I've decided on steel stairs in my home - it has a very modern, industrial feel - and my wife loves spiral staircases, so we found that a spiral steel staircase would marry the two. But we were having a hard time deciding how to finish them, and your post has really given us some things to consider and will, ultimately, help us make our final decision.

Carol, Sorry for the delay I didn't see your question. Is this a spiral? Did we manufacture it? If we made it we could set you up with center balusters. Otherwise it would be tough for us to do anything for you without making a new one. I would recommend calling a local welding shop and perhaps they would come to your home and weld balusters in the spaces? Then you could just paint over the new welds perhaps. Please let me know if I can do anything to help. Thanks.

Jason,

I'm sorry that the project was delayed due to the delivery problems. While I do not like excuses I have to believe that this must have been a communication error. Shipping lead times are completely out of our control once they leave our company. I have tracked the order on our shipping carriers website and it looks like it was shipped Thursday, Februay 19 and delivered Monday February 23. I think the confusion might have been that the stair usually ships 24 hours after the final balance, not delivered 24 hours after. Again I am sorry for the confusion, this is something we will have to be more clear on in the future. For your own information though three business days is standard transit time to Massachusetts for us.

In the end I am very pleased that both you and your customer were satisfied with the product. We pride ourselves on not only how well it assembles, but the quality craftsmanship we put into each and every stair.

Thanks for your comments. Sam

I recently purchased a half turn spiral kit from Salter Industries. The whole process from start to finish was great until it came time for delivery. My project was on a dead line and when I placed my order the sales agent said the turn around for this kit would be a week.Perfect I thought ,that would give me enough time to install it and finish up any loose ends of the project.I was also told that after final payment was taken it would be 24 hrs. until Irecieved my stair kit.The final payment was taken on Wed and I didnt take delivery until the following Tues. This set me back and I lost some money on the job because I had to pay a guy an extra day so I would have help with assembly. The kit itself was easy enough to put together and all the parts were there. The quality was good and in the end the homeowner was happy with it.Again my only problem, which got me really upset because of the deadline i was on was the turn around on a completly stock item.

Lisa,

You've come to the right place, we specialize in outdoor spiral stairs

As far as lead times go it all depends on what type of stair you would like. We can ship basic orders the same day, but custom orders can take around 4 weeks. If you give us a call Monday morning we can discuss the best option and then give you an exact lead time. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks, Sam.
