What is the center column made of on your wood spirals? Then how do the treads connect to the column?

On the wood spirals the column is made of solid wood 5" round. The treads then have a bolt that goes through the center column and connects to the tread. We are the only manufacturer to offer a solid wood center column versus a steel column with wood covers.
