We are a custom home builder. Andrew F worked with us to design a complicated two story stacked spiral stair. They were very competitive pricing after checking around. Very responsive when we needed them. Awesome people to work with.

In a new middle school, in the drama department they required a spiral stair up to a Juliet balcony. The area that the stair went in was very tight and restricted. Salter was very helpful in making sure we knew exactly how the stair and platform had to be oriented to fit... perfectly. Salter was very helpful in making sure we had everything we needed for a difficult installation.read more

The parts were all there and clearly marked. The instructions were complete and easy to follow. We are steel fabricators and were impressed by the workmanship and fit. We purchased and installed the stair for a customer and they were very pleased.

Come for the fries. Stay for the sausage. Drink a beer and don't skip dessert.Seriously for a chain, this place fires on all cylinders.-The vibe is cool and moody-The selection is eclectic-Arguably the best fries in town-Apple pie ice cream sandwich out of left field is... FIREThe only bad thing I could say about this place is that the whole grain mustard they have there is by far the worst I've had in my whole life.Other than that, this place deserves some trophies for being a great place to bring a friend or a tinder date that you don't want to take too seriously.read more

We purchased galvanized stairs from Salter years ago when we were originally going to build a deck on top of our roof and required stairs that were 19' off the ground. After a second design location was chosen; we discovered that the impediment to extending the existing deck... was no longer an impediment and opted for that and didn't need the stairs.During the first two iterations, Scott never hesitated to provide drawings/ideas etc.at no cost. He was always very friendly/pleasant & helpful.Meanwhile, years passed & in 2020, I decided that since we were stuck at home anyway I would install the Stairs to replace some older stairs but this time it would require a Variance. This meant more drawings, more than once and again, Scott was very helpful, always positive and didn't charge. Because of Covid, permitting was a real hassle not because of the stairs but because everything was closed, people were working from home and the County Reviewer was difficult to access & communicate with, creating a lot more work & help from Scott, which he never, ever seemed bothered by.Salter Stairs has a solid, strong product and excellent customer support.read more

We decided to expand our home to create an easier access to the unfinished attic space. We had thought that a pull down set of stairs would have be suffice, but I was really the only one that would go up and down them, except for the kids.. lol. We created a bedroom at one end... of the attic and our, work from home, office space on the other and storage in the middle. The way the home was built would not allow for a staircase. So my wife searched for a spiral staircase instead. We found several but settled on Salter. My wife, educated in AutoCAD and design work, designed the plans. My father-in-law and I did the work. We cut a 5'x5' hole in the dining room ceiling and when the staircase arrived, it was very easy to install. We've only added two things so far, we placed non-slip sticker strips on each step, the steps were very slippery and bumper guards to protect our head.We have waited over a year to post a review. We wanted to give it time. We use the spiral staircase daily and we get a lot of positive responses from everyone that comes into the home. Over all experience: we could not have made a happier decision and the company, especially working with Claudia, she was nice to work with when ordering.read more

It is not completely done but it looks good and easy to put up. The aluminum hand rail was the hardest.

Working with Ralph DiDomenico in the order process was was a great experience. He performed at the high standard my team needed to go across the country and purchase from Salter. Can't comment on the finish, etc as we are "sheltering" and this project is shut down til further... notice, but based on working with Ralph we trust we will have an excellent outcome.read more

Stairs came together perfectly and the end product was beautiful. Absolutely worth the extra money for custom cut stairs for the visual appeal alone, but we actually saved significant time on the install as well so the whole package ended up costing less than the budget one... size fits all stairs. I chose Salter/Paragon because they were one of the few suppliers that offered an aluminum handrail in black which was helpful even though we were painting the entire staircase on site. No missing parts and the unit arrived on time. Definitely necessary to take careful measurements and think through the design and placement of the stair- these are not always am easy DIY project to pull off seamlessly. As an architect working for a local contractor I had the luxury of detailed construction documents to help with the process and quality carpenters to perform the install. Thanks to the Salter/Paragon sales team for helping me through this!read more

Econo Stair worked great for our needs, and was actually kind of fun to install. I would prepare yourself for a little self-ingenuity and patience, and you might halve to make a call for some clarification on a few items relating to understanding the installation guide. Overall,... I'm very glad we made the purchase and would definitely going this route again and would recommend the same.read more

With Salter Stair, you get what you pay for. Very high quality and the kind of sturdiness you want to feel going up and down the stairs. Our representative was always punctual getting back to us when we had any questions.

Brian Benjamin, the representative that helped us with the design, was very knowledgeable, professional, and did an outstanding job!The communications, between sales and delivery, needs improvement. The original delivery date was not recognized/upheld. The stairs were not... completed, and shipped to meet the original delivery date. The response, was to ship the stairs, the middle of the delivery week, which would make their arrival, at a time, that no one would be at the shipping address, to receive them! After several calls, following emails, that stated the stairs were shipped, when we were told they would not ship until the new agreed upon date; the stairs were recalled, and finally shipped, at a time, that we were able to be at the shipping address to receive the delivery. We were first told 3-5 business days delivery time. When we received an email, that the stairs had been shipped, it stated the delivery time as 5-7 business days. Being, that we were 7 hours away, from the shipping address, the shipping/delivery dates needed to be accurate, and of the upmost importance! The packaging/boxing needs improvement. The boxing, upon delivery, showed puncture damage in 3 places. Luckily, we only had minor damage. Ironically, it was on the first tread. We will live with/accept it, because, by not doing so, the stairs can not be assembled until it is replaced. Also, improved packaging may reduce the scuffed areas that need touchup paint. We are pleased with the design, for our specific usage. The staircase is very well built!Had it not been for the shipping/delivery snafu, the stairs would have earned 5 stars.read more

Overall the stairs are excellent. High quality, heavy duty. Not to difficult to install for DYI people who are a bit savvy. There were a couple of issues that i had to contact the company about; the first tread was supposed to be shorter by 2 inches to account for the base... but all the treads were the same height - this actually worked out as the total stair height was just right - but this is concerning as the floor-to-floor height must have been incorrect. Not a big problem as customer service is sending an additional ballister to finish off the bottom main. Even though the first tread height will be 11inches this is not a concern for me. The other issue is that for the cost of these stairs they should include a base-plate cover - this is additional. Not to mention that there is no way to have the base-plate cover in place and still be able to drill to secure the base plate. It must be a split cover to apply later. I have given them a thumbs down for responsiveness and punctuality because i have emailed my sales rep without response, and i have left two messages today asking for a return call to order the cover, and still no response. He was calling me constantly before i paid the price for the stairs, now i can't seem to get in touch with him, so service after the sale is lacking. Still, overall i would recommend these stairs.read more

Easy to install stairs. I like the open air look and the speed on what I put them up. It is easier with 3 people. It took us 4 hours to complete the job. The only issue i found on the galvanized coating is there are some sharp areas from the dipping, but not terrible, but I may... ask for them to send me a new rail. The rest I am very happy with. It is very sturdy. The customer service is great.read more
